I am a writer, lecturer and artist and I live in the north of Sweden. I can see the mountains through my kitchen window. I like the climate here. It is like me, shifting between storm and calm, nettles and honey.

When I write, it comes straight from my heart and I want my work to touch the hearts of other people. I have written about life with my son in my book, “My Son Fred”.

I have two children; my eldest – a son – has autism and is intellectually disabled. In their own way, both of my children have been my teachers, but it is my son who has taught me the most over the years, for better or worse. He became my Guide

My lectures and courses are based on life experiences, although I also have other qualifications. For example, I have worked comprehensively with quality monitoring and quality development in the area of services for people with intellectual disabilities I have also taught courses in personal development.

It is important for each individual, with or without a disability, to be noticed, to be treated with respect and to be able to have a good quality of life based on the person’s specific needs and means available. What I hope to achieve is that all people who come into contact with persons with disabilites work to find ways to give the best possible support. This requires us to come closer to each other, to let go of our suspicions and competitiveness and instead project cooperation, and learn to speak with and listen to others.The difficult conversation will be possible when we open our eyes and ears and put the opportunities in front of the conflicts and difficulties. I want to take part in creating channels for interpersonal cooperation, and also in making sure that all our resources are used to the best possible advantage for understanding.

In the poetry book, “Alone in Oneself ”, I have shown my paintings for the first time officially. I paint using oils and watercolours and I am delighted to be able to bring together my two interests, writing and painting. I often use my pictures as a basis for discussion or to help illustrate during my lectures and courses.
